Dolores Abernathy WIP

I'm currently working on Season 1 Dolores Abernathy from the second half of the season. While I want to do all three of Dolores main outfits, this is the first on I am starting with. This is one of my favorite looks Dolores wears because this is the outfit she wears when she really finds herself and starts on her journey to who she is in season two, plus I've always loved the idea of women in the wild west wear.

Below I have Listed the cosplay elements I need for Dolores.

Cosplay Elements:

– Tan/Taupe High Waisted Pants

– Tan/Beige Stripped Shirt

– Western Boots

– Belt and Belt Buckle

– Gun and Gun Holster

– Blonde Wig

I found her pants at goodwill! I was originally planning on making more accurate pants, but my Nana told me that would be a bit too difficult for my level of skill. Maybe in the future!

Dolores pants and boots

This shirt is probably the hardest part of this cosplay. I cannot for the life of me find one that is even SIMILAR. I hope I don't have to make one, but if I do, I have this fabric saved, and this pattern.

When my sister got married she had us all wear boots, so I don't plan on purchasing more because they are quite expensive! We got my boots from Drysdale's (which is now Boot Barn) in 2015. I also think mine go really well with her character! My boots have a sort of blue design on them and I think it sort of connects back to her original dress! You can look above to the picture of my pants to see my boots.

Her belt is a Tandy Leather belt. I have it saved (and on a Christmas list!) so hopefully I can get that soon to work on. The belt buckle is a vintage belt buckle so I'm looking for one. I did find one from Abbey England, it would just need some weathering.

Sadly, my Nana told me that we used to have a play gun just like Dolores's gun but it was somehow lost between a few moves. This means I have to find one, but hopefully a con approved play gun won't be too hard to find.

I have a few blonde wigs saved on my amazon wishlist that could work for Dolores, but haven't decided which I will get.

I probably wont work on her more until after the holidays, but I'll update when I have more of the costume complete!
