With 2018 coming to a close, I thought I would review what I did in 2018!
I started this account on June 19th, 2018 with a few pictures my boyfriend took in February after a Harry Potter Convention we went to. I wanted dress up so bad and my grandma bought my robes for me! I had been Rey for Halloween the previous year, so I used that costume to take pictures by the end of June. I also took out my Camp HalfBlood camper for that shoot as well!
I did my first cosplan test at the beginning of August and started planning a photoshoot at my University for Hermione! For Percy's birthday I bought blue cookies and dawned my camper outfit!
The beginning of September saw me do a huge photoshoot with my Hufflepuff, Hermione and SpiderGwen! I had literally just got my SpiderGwen Costume the day before this shoot and I was so excited to wear it! The second weekend of September was my first real convention! I went to Wizard World Tulsa as SpiderGwen and met some cool people and had a lot of fun!
For the premier of the new season of Doctor Who in October I sported my not-yet complete Amy Pond, which was all clothes I already had in my closet! I also received and announced my Village Belle cosplay this month with a pretty cool picture involving my boyfriends uncles dress screen! At the end of October I costested my genderbent Harry Potter (with Bean as Sirius Black/Padfoot) and I went to a cool orchestra event called Star Wars and Beyond!
I went to the Tulsa Pop Culture Expo at the beginning of November as Belle and got some cool artwork, saw some cool celebrities and took a picture with super cool Hulkbuster! I also took the only two photos that I currently have of my Belle! I did my first photoshoot with someone besides my boyfriend and finally did the Hermione and Ron shoot I had been dreaming about since I started cosplaing! Not pictured but still happened in November, I received my Ballroom Belle costume from @Emdavro of Instagram!
In December I received my Daenerys Wig from Wig Is Fashion and styled it! I was really proud of it and its one of my top performing posts on instagram! I then did a costest with my daenerys wig (and may have worn it out to five guys). My boyfriend and I did a cute Ron and Hermione Christmas Cosplay (but we forgot to take off our glasses, whoops). I also received SO MANY cosplay related things for Christmas like, my dress form, Daenerys' Qarth dress, belt buckles for Dolores, Daenerys' boots, black boots for Black Canary/others, and a red wig for Amy! Finally, I posted my top nine pictures of 2018!
Not pictured below, but I also joined a Cosplay Marketing Group on facebook which has really helped me when it comes to marketing my cosplay instagram. I also grew my instagram and made so many new friends! I started a facebook page, a twitter, and this website! I started sewing, and drafting patterns. I have really grown as a cosplayer and a person since I started this page from nothing in June! I'm so proud of myself for choosing to do something I love and enjoy!
I want to thank my boyfriend for always being so supportive of me and taking almost all of my pictures. I want to thank my Nana for being supportive and helpful when it came to learning sewing. I want to thank my dad and stepmom for supporting me and buying pretty much all my cosplay related Christmas gifts. I want to thank my mom for supporting me, even though she didn't quite understand it at first. Lastly, I want to thank all my followers and friends for supporting me on social media!
