Yesterday, I started work on my belt for Dolores. She wears this belt in all three of the main outfits we see her in. So if I chose to do all her outfits, I can!
Materials
Belt
Belt Keeper
Buckle
Packing paper or newspaper
Gloves
Antique Finish or Leather Dye
100% Cotton Cloth or a clean dry cloth
Leather Finish
Sponge Brush
Exacto Knife
Leather Punch
Sharpie
The belt is the screen accurate belt from Tandy Leather. I got the stain and belt loop from Tandy as well.

My grandma and I collectively decided that the Dark Brown Antique Finis was the correct color.

We first put the buckle on and marked how long I wanted the belt and we used a lid to trace the rounded end. My grandpa then used an exact knife and cut away the end.
Then we measured for the first hole on the belt and placed a mark every inch going the opposite way of the buckle. My grandpa then used a leather punch to punch out the holes on the belt. Nana suggests five holes.

Then we placed the belt on some packing paper to protect the counter, put on gloves to protect your skin and used 100% cotton cloth to rub the antique finish onto the belt.
Nana uses 100% cotton cloth because it will put the paste on smoother. She prefers the paste to the dye because she feels like she has more control over it.
Use circular motions to rub the antique finish into the belt and make sure to get it into all the nooks and crannies, then you use a clean cloth to wipe all the excess off. Do this over the entire belt, make sure you get the sides and belt keeper and to make it complete (as nana said) do the back of the belt as well.
Then you let it sit and dry for 24 hours before putting the leather finish on it everywhere you put the antique finish.
And then you have a complete belt!
